The Milwaukee local section of the American Chemical Society (ACS) was one of twenty local sections petitioned by the ACS to start a new local section Younger Chemist Committee (YCC). The YCC is an emergent group of young chemists within the ACS involved in providing networking opportunities and professional development for persons starting or changing their careers in chemistry.

By joining the Milwaukee YCC, you will be informed about local events, volunteering and award opportunities through the Milwaukee local section, and you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas for making the ACS more relevant to younger chemists. We hosted the Chemistry in Southeastern Wisconsin Poster-Mixer 2009, at the UWM Wisconsin Room on October 23rd 2009. It was a great success with 26 presenters from around the Southeastern Wisconsin community. Thank you to all who participated in this informal presentation and congratulations to those who won prizes in the raffle!

We are currently planning our next Poster-Mixer for the fall on 2010. It will be held at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee on October 22nd, 2010.
